History of University
Introduction
Faculty of Medicine (TSDI) has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1931. Over the decades, TSDI has evolved into one of Uzbekistan’s leading institutions for medical and dental education, research, and healthcare service.
Establishment
TSDI was founded in 1931 as the Tashkent Medical Institute. It was initially established to meet the growing demand for medical professionals in Uzbekistan and to contribute to the development of healthcare services in the region.
Reorganization and Growth
In 1935, the institute was reorganized and introduced as a course in the medical faculty of a larger institution. However, recognizing the importance of specialized medical education, the Faculty of Medicine was restored as a separate entity on August 3, 1954.
Under the leadership of Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Associate Professor R.S. Sagatov and the rector of the institute, Associate Professor A.G. Gulamov, the Faculty of Medicine saw significant growth and development. The institute expanded its academic programs, research initiatives, and clinical services, making it a renowned institution in the field of medical education.
